WHO Will Be The New Doctor Who?

Okay, call me a 1st Class "Doctor Who Fan”, because that is exactly what I am when comes to the Inter-Dimensional Time Traveller from Gallafrey – Doctor Who – or should I say Va…Oops! Well, let’s not go there just yet, eh!

When David Tenant stepped aside for Matt Smith in 2010, the whole world watched with anticipated breath as to who it was to take the helm of the TARDIS, and guide the 11th Doctor through time and space…Not forgetting, of course, that Time Lords (Any and All) can only ‘Regenerate’ 12 times, and so, with this in mind, we look next for the 12th and very final Doctor – the last Time Lord, if you like – who will bring vast entertainment to the millions of British-American viewers far and wide.

In a ‘Shock’ statement by Matt Smith to the "Doctor Who" Bosses, he revealed he wanted to "bow out” of the show. Bosses have already acknowledged that Matt, 30, will leave the phenomenally successful Saturday evening show this Christmas Day…Regenerating for the 12th and final time as a Time Lord.

Matt has spent four years as the enemy-illusive warrior to the many enemies wanting to rid the Universe of the rogue Time Traveller, including the Daleks, Cybermen, The Slaveen, and even The Master. The story as to how and why he came to be the protector of "Earth Children" has remained a mystery, while the one last and final question that hangs over the entirety of the Doctor Who franchise is…Doctor Who? What is the Doctors’ name? And, who is the last child of Gallafrey, really?

Production Crew within the world-wide popular show have confirmed that the Christmas Special "Will be” the last time we will see Matt as the euphoric and humorously witty Doctor, and added that his four year run as one of the most sought after character’s in Britain, has been "Triumphant”.

With a clear focus now on Hollywood, Matt is reported to have finished filming a new film with "50 Shades Of Grey” contender, Ryan Gosling, in "To Catch A Monster”, that is due for release in 2014. It will be Matt’s second film which began with his starring in the controversial "Womb” (2010), playing a clone of a woman’s lover killed in an accident and raised to replace him.

Inside the BBC, Bosses of the show have said that they are almost sure that they know who they want to replace Matt, but as yet the lips of everyone to do with the series are remaining ‘Tight lipped’, and they are not saying anything until the time is right. That time being right will be later in the year when filming starts on the ‘Christmas Special’, when a press conference will be held. Matt’s contract runs out in November 2013, and it has been revealed the star will not be renewing it.

As for the moment, however, the filming of the show’s 50th anniversary episode will start in April, while the episode itself will be shown on schedule in November of this year. It was on the Jonathan Ross Show, that Matt Smith revealed that he had "Refused to commit to Doctor Who beyond Christmas this year”, which set off the pandemonium throughout the Entertainment world. With extra Tweet’s and Status’ going out to millions of fans on a global scale, the question that eventually returned was: "WHO will replace the Iconic Doctor?”

He said: "I am very happy doing it. I do the anniversary special, then the Christmas special. At the moment it’s 2013 and we will see what 2014 holds.” An insider said: "Matt has told bosses he wants to bow out at Christmas.”

Matt was little known when he signed up for the role in 2009, bagging a £200,000-a-year deal. It’s thought he now earns £1million a year — the same as previous Time Lord David Tenant when he left.

All bets are on for the new Doctor, as the third series of "Sherlock” comes to a close and ready for airing…But, waiting in the wings is a little bit of an expected twist – if Russell T. Davies should take up the opportunity – and that could well be the introduction of a ‘Female Doctor’. At present there has never been a woman at the helm of the TARDIS – bar River Song, the Doctor’s Wife – so what who would best fit the part? Could it in fact be River Song? After all, she did kill the Doctor and go to prison for his murder, but the story line has never been elaborated on as to when the murder took place, and when they caught River Song. Hmm…

Tyler Crawley (Stephen Chambers) is committed to a psychiatric hospital for the murder of his mother, for which the whole town is in awe of the actions committed by such a placid young man. Several years he is released and reunited with his friends who decide to travel out into the snow covered wilds to party and relax for the weekend, but Tyler has other reasons – to scatter the ashes of his beloved mother and finally find his peace with her.

While out in the wilds Tyler discovers something that at first is passed off as a hallucination caused through the use of his medication, but when his friends are also witness to the strange corridor of light, everything that they had in their friendship quickly becomes competitive for the power in which the light gives them. The longer the exposure to the light, the more each man wants more – and the less they want to share the secret they have stumbled across. Very soon that of the corruption brings them to murder, vicious and violent confrontations with one another and finally that of the truth behind Tyler killing his mother comes out into the open.

In a fast paced deadly competition of cat and mouse, the friends must struggle forward and eventually discover what it is that is influencing them…

New Series Leaks: Asylum of the Dalek’s

The title of the new series’ opening episode has been revealed as Asylum of the Dalek’s.

We confirmed back in March that the Dalek’s would be returning to menace the universe and even posted a few sneaky photos smuggled from set! Since then, Steven Moffat (Doctor Who’s lead writer and Executive Producer) has confirmed that the adventure will feature every kind of Dalek ever faced by the Time Lord – including the legendary Special Weapons Dalek!

The title of the new story has already increased the excitement building around it. Could the ‘asylum’ be a place or is it some sort of protection? Or does the word take on a new and sinister meaning in this adventure? It’s too early to say but we’re having fun speculating! In the meantime, we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out the answer to the crucial question: What is the Asylum of the Dalek’s?

Executive Producer Caro Skinner wasn’t giving much away but she did tell us, ‘This is an epic Dalek adventure that kicks off the new series in explosive style! If you think you know all there is to know about the Dalek’s…think again…’

DVD Archive Review: Ten years have passed since the mighty Perseus defeated the Kraken, and now all that he yearns is the normal life with his son, Helius, who has no Demi-God powers. Elsewhere, however, bad blood is boiling in the Underworld, with Zeus having been betrayed by his Brothers Hades and Poseidon. It will take the power of them all to defeat the one God that threatens the entire world…Kronos.

This sequel to the original "Clash of the Titans” that was remade in 2011, has potential for being absolutely great. But, what the viewer has to realise is that this is a "Sequel” and not an "Original” conceptual idea, and so, with a more ensuing approach from the storyline, plot and special FX/CGi it brings together very good viewing. There is an essence that lingers with the "Titan” movies, and that essence usually plays out a good part in the "Saturday Matinee”, and even more so when they are released on DVD/BluRay. Let there be no mistakes, the film will make a gate crashing appearance when released on Home Entertainment Disc, and it may well attribute to a larger viewing base world-wide from those who didn’t go to the cinema, but it will dither in the ratings should there be a third instalment of the franchise.

The solid collaboration between the entire cast is symmetrical, as is the action sequences that are breath taking and stunning. The sub-plot which involves Helius (John Bell) is needed more than just wanted because of his brief introduction at the end of the first film release, and one which was totally absent in the original "Clash of the Titans”.

Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston), give this film one of the better side-step stories within a main story, which is most probably why the whole idea of a sequel was in order in the first place. Nonetheless, the feuding Godly Brother’s had to have some kind of personal exposure, due to the storyline in the first being about Perseus and the Gods that wished him only harm. What was not pointed out in the first film, and one point which we believe should have been inserted, was the matter of Kronos being the father of the three Brothers, and, as strange as it may seem and sound, that Kronos is the Grandfather of Perseus – so what strange DNA and Genes does Perseus proclaim?

As far as sharing this film with your girl, your wife, or even your sister…think of the actual Genre of the film first before you decide – and maybe make the wrong decision. It is an Epic Fantasy Adventure movie that rolls with the punches of several hundred variations of Myth and Legend combined, so imagine with great thought whether or not you’re GF or BW will forgive you for using the shared joint DVD Rental Card on renting a testosterone injected two hour extravaganza that will keep any red blooded man perfectly enthralled – as long as that is what the man is into, of course.
